Cowbridge Comprehensive School lies in a rural location outside the market town of Cowbridge. The school was previously split over three sites and one of the main drivers for the retrofit and new build project has been the relocation to one site. By combining the schools estate management and costs will be much more efficient. Additional sports facilities were required including a sports hall, gymnasium, outdoor all weather pitches with lighting. A community centred approach was key enabling access to the sports hall, playing fields, main performance hall, classrooms, catering resources and the learning resources area for the wider community. Efficiency has been a key driver, not just through the provision of services but also through the layout of the school to create a low energy demand set of buildings.

The project consists of approximately 7,000 m2 of new build and the refurbishment of around 4,000 m2 of existing buildings.
